For six days from October 31 (Fri) to November 5 (Wed), 2025, Hama-rikyu Gardens ens will extend its opening hours until 9:00 p.m. and light up the garden at night in time for the “Chestnut Moon”.
During this period, visitors will be able to see the moon-viewing platform offering ceremony (held only on October 31) and traditional performing arts performances every night. There will also be a “Special Otsukimi Guided Tour” to introduce the unique nighttime highlights, as well as sales of limited edition Otsukimi matcha sets, Japanese sake, eventlimited edition lanterns, and more.
This year, due to the restoration work of the “Odeni Bridge,” visitors will be able to view the night scenery along a special route only available this time.
Please enjoy an exceptional moon viewing experience in the Japanese garden on a wee night surrounded by soft lights.
(*This year, there will be no “Gagaku on board” by a Japanese-style boat. Please be forewarned that there will be no “Gagaku on the boat” this year.)
